Plastic molded, the Grifter is a weather-resistant stash box hidden behind the motorcycle license plate.

Lightweight and low cost, it is ideally suited for storing your vehicle registration or insurance papers. Perhaps a kickstand pad, hide a tracker or carry small tools like a tire pressure gauge or even some spare change.

Made in USA, the Grifter license plate storage box is sized to work with all standard size license plates but will also work with the current Wisconsin and Ohio cycle plates on most motorcycles.

• External Dimensions: 7" x 4" x 1" plus 1" on the width for the lock. (177mm x 111mm x 26mm plus 26mm at the lock)
• Internal Storage Dimensions: 6.3" x 2.2" x 0.8"
• Includes all mounting hardware, a small pouch for paper documents, a lock and two keys.
• Now also includes foam insert.

*The box is delivered with the lock and all parts inside the box. Installing the lock is required. It is advisable to use a light thread locker on the lock retention nut.

We have noticed other vendors selling identical looking product online, under different names and at much higher prices. Whether those are the same identical product as ours, we do not know.
What we do know is that our Grifter hidden stash box, which we have carried for more than 25 years, is made right here in the USA (Midwest) and is supplied with a lock sourced from overseas.

Is it waterproof?
The box is water resistant but NO it is not full 100% waterproof and we make no claim as such. In addition, it is mounted in a place that typically receives a lot of water. Use common sense (you know.. that rare commodity these days) and place valuables in a zip-lock bag.

Does it have a steel hinge?
No, it is simple low cost design, all plastic one piece molded, two halves fitting together. It is plenty sturdy for its intended use.

Is the lock installed?
The lock is included but is NOT pre-installed. As mentioned above, end-user needs to install the lock before use.
